Masonic Village Residents are ... The Grey Lions of Elizabethtown, PA

The Grey Lions, a Penn State Alumni Association AIG, or Alumni Interest Group, bring the resources of the world-class university to the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown and surrounding community. The group can invite university-sponsored speakers and programs to campus. They can also apply for grants for Penn State-related activities and are eligible for football lottery tickets.

Since its inception in 2007, the group has hosted bus trips to area Penn State events, basketball games in the Bryce Jordan Center, Blue/White games in Beaver Stadium and the Penn State Arts Festival. They have co-sponsored a book-signing with the Elizabethtown Historical Society, featuring the authors of "Rails to Trails: The Story of the Bellefonte Central," and held a tailgating party with the Lancaster County Penn State Alumni Club.

The group awarded its first annual scholarship in May 2011 (click here for news release). Current Masonic Village employees, family members of employees or residents of the Masonic Children's Home who attend any Penn State campus are eligible for the scholarship.

The 85-member Grey Lions of Elizabethtown is made up of Masonic Village residents, staff and neighbors. Anyone with an interest in Penn State University can join, alumni or not. For more information, contact president Dave Halliwell at halliwell@dejazzd.com.

The group was chartered as the first Penn State Alumni Association AIG for retirees in 2009. An AIG is a group of Penn State alumni and friends who have common interests arising from their University-recognized co-curricular activities or common cultural or professional postgraduate interests. The Penn State Alumni Association has more than 165,000 members worldwide.
